Today in Bangalore Faith2Share leaders will be considering the role of mission against a backdrop of violence, and a world of many faiths. In many contexts around the world our partners are on the frontline and need our constant prayer protection. In Syria, other parts of the Middle East, Ukraine, DR Congo, Burundi and Sudan persecution is common place - and at the hands of the so called ‘Islamic State’ has verged on genocide. Please pray for those who work for peace, bind up the wounded and counsel the traumatised especially where women and children suffer the effects of war and violence.
Case study: Safir
Safir is one such inspirational mission worker who has a ministry helping children and young people in Aleppo in Syria – many of whom have suffered from the effects of the civil war which has ravaged their country for several years. Faith2Share has worked with Safir through the Lausanne Orthodox Initiative. As head of the Scout and Orthodox Youth movements, Safir and his youth workers help put hope back into children’s lives – by organising a range of activities. A highlight at Christmas sees Safir and the youth workers dressing up as Father Christmases and delivering presents and blessings to children across Aleppo.
"Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you."
